Nesodden Folkebadstu is a community-driven sauna association on the Nesodden peninsula in the Oslo fjord. Run by dedicated volunteers, this ‘folk sauna’ embodies the democratic spirit of the Norwegian sauna movement with three wood-fired saunas spread across different locations on the peninsula.

Locations

  • Hellvik (Hellviktangen friområde): On svaberget near the dock — up to 8 people
  • Nesoddtangen: On svaberget between the dock and the farm — up to 7 people
  • Badevogna: A mobile sauna on a car trailer that moves to different docks every two months — up to 6 people

Pricing

  • Annual membership: 300 NOK (required for private bookings)
  • Private sauna (2 hours): 175 NOK per booking
  • Shared sauna: 50 NOK per person
  • Vel-members / Badevogna: 200 NOK (175 NOK for NFB members)

Opening Hours for Shared Sauna

  • Hellvik: Wednesdays 16:00–22:00, Saturdays 10:00–16:00
  • Nesoddtangen: Sundays 10:00–16:00
  • Private bookings available 08:00–midnight (Hellvik/Badevogna) and 08:00–22:00 (Nesoddtangen)

Nesodden is a short ferry ride from central Oslo (Aker Brygge), making this a wonderfully accessible escape from the city.
